German Eurofighter

Germany operates the second largest number of Eurofighters after the UK. It still refers to the type simply as the Eurofighter, or EF2000, rather than the Typhoon. Three of the recently-formed Taktischen Luftwaffengeschwader (Tactical Air Wings) fly the aircraft in Luftwaffe service, Taktisches Luftwaffengeschwader 73, being the unit set to contribute to the inaugural Scampton Airshow. Germany currently uses the Eurofighter in the air-to-air role only, but is soon to develop its employment of the aircraft's multi-role capabilities.
