Jet Provost Mk.3/Mk.5
The BAC Jet Provost was the backbone of RAF jet training for many years and was the first time that many trainee fast jet pilots flew a jet powered aircraft. It saw service from 1955 to 1993.
It was a successful and rugged design adn whilst early varients were seen as underpowered, the design led to the powerful Strikemaster ground attack aircraft, which features in the flying display at Scampton Airshow.
Two 'JPs' will be in the static display at Scampton, a Mk.3 and a Mk.5 (pictured above).
