Family Fun

From aviation enthusiasts to families, there was something for everyone at the inaugural Scampton Airshow!

Scampton Airshow is perfect for families as admission is free to under 16s and there was a colourful array of activities around the airfield including the largest private collection of fire engines in Europe, classic car display, fairground rides, adrenalin fuelled flight simulators and even helicopter pleasure flights.

Visitors also found a range of retail outlets, arts and crafts as well as Official Scampton Airshow merchandise. There was a wide range of catering options in the two Service Stations, the Vintage Village and at other points around the airfield.

With many parking at the Lincolnshire Showground, they could grab a bite to eat and a coffee at one of the catering units positioned within the showground.

Something for everyone

Up to the present day and the RAF Village visitors could meet the serving men and women of your Royal Air Force, experience the diverse roles within the current RAF and get hands on with the equipment they use to keep aircraft flying. Over the airshow you could also get to meet the Red Arrows pilots, engineers and some of the other 150 people who keep the Red Arrows in the air, and feel proud at their dedication and professionalism.

With science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) so important in the school curriculum and at the heart of the Techno Zone, kids enjoyed getting hands on and learning about STEM subjects in an exciting environment. The Techno Zone was sponsored by Rolls-Royce, where a vast range of free fun activities inspired young minds and sparked the next generation of aviators and astronauts!
