Visiting the show
The airshow will offer five hours of flying displays, ranging from modern fast jets to historic aircraft, with public viewing areas on the South East side of the airfield. There will also be static displays located on the taxiways within the public area.
And it's not just aircraft! A visit to Scampton Airshow offers something for everyone, from the Vintage Village, with access to the Heritage Centre to see exhibits from Lincolnshire's aviation past, to the Techno Zone area with hands-on activities for children based around science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). The RAF Village will feature an insight into the personnel and equipment from the modern RAF.
The inaugural Scampton Airshow is to be held in 2017, the centenary year of RAF Scampton. First known as Home Defence Flight Station Brattleby, the airfield was first opened on 13 October 1916. The airfield was home to many different types of First World War fighter aircraft including FE2bs and Sopwith Camels. In 1917 the airfield was renamed Scampton.
