Sqn Ldr Mike Ling, who has been a member of the Red Arrows since 2008, is performing his last UK commentary at the Scampton Airshow this weekend.
Mike, who flew with the Red Arrows for three seasons, has more recently acted as team supervisor for all practices and displays. He also acts as display commentator as well as pilot for the Red Arrows' photographer.
He said: "If I was to sum up my experience as a Red Arrow in one word it would be 'pride'; the sheer pride of putting on a Red Arrows' suit. I've thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. Meeting many thousands of people from across the UK and around the world has been an amazing experience."
Mike was presented with an airport arrival 'plate' by Jeppesen, who provide intelligent aviation navigation services, redesigned it to incorporate Mike's personal achievements. It was presented to him at the airshow by Tim Griffiths, Jeppesen UK's regional account manager for UK Government and Military.
