Where To Stay

Accommodation

It is likely that local accommodation will be reserved far in advance for the Scampton Airshow weekend and it is therefore best to book early.

Camping

It has been decided that there will not be an official campsite for the Scampton Airshow in 2017.

You can find out more about local camping options by visiting the Visit Lincoln website.

The South Lincolnshire Camping and Caravan Club will also be holding a meet at the Lincolnshire Showground over the airshow weekend of 9-10 September.

The Local Area

Whilst attending the airshow, why not extend your stay and take in more of the wonderful aviation history Lincolnshire has to offer. Known as Bomber County during World War 2 due to the Squadrons based in the county, Lincolnshire is still today proud to be at the centre of aviation and has plenty to do and see.

See the The International Bomber Command Centre, the UK's tallest war memorial on the top of Canwick Hill, in Lincoln.

On the old wartime airfield of RAF East Kirkby, you'll find the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, which holds one of the rarest restored aircraft, an Avro Lancaster Bomber.

Discover the fascinating story of the historic RAFC Cranwell and become a pilot on the Jet Provost flight simulator at Cranwell Heritage Centre.

One of the RAF's busiest operational airfields is also home to RAF Waddington Heritage Centre, where parts from aircraft that were based at Waddington can be seen.

Slightly further afield at RAF Conningsby you'll find The Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF), which commemorates the past of the RAF's air combat power.

If museums are more your thing Newark Air Museum displays 77 aircraft and cockpit sections.

To really engross yourself in all things aviation, why not take one Lincolnshire's Aviation Trails where the map or app will guide you around Lincolnshire to show you the icons and landmarks of the aviation industry.
