Team kicks-off their first fixture in style

The Royal Air Force Charitable Trust has provided nearly £500 of funding to the RAF Regiment Football Club to help player's kick-start their training in style.
Ensuring players were dressed for the occasion, the grant subsidised the purchase of training kit for the club, which affiliated with the RAF Football Association earlier this year. The newly formed team took on the REME Corps team at MoD Lyneham for their first high profile match on Thursday 26th Jan. The tough-fought game ended 0-0 - a great result for the newly established team.
Sgt Simon Bunn, RAF Regt Football Club Treasurer, said: "The game went really well - we hit the bar twice and ultimately should have won the game. But, finishing on a draw is still a terrific result for us as it is the first time the team has played together, especially against a side that has been established for over four years.
"On behalf of the team I'd like to thank the Trust for their help getting us up and running. We have another five fixtures lined up throughout the year so the future of the team is looking very promising and the new kit will get plenty of use!"
